Property Accountant

  • Collaborating with Management to develop monthly
  • Analyzing and funding escrow and security deposit accounts
  • Answering questions from stakeholders and team members
  • Completing property on-boarding and off-boarding tasks
  • Preparing and distributing monthly, quarterly and annual reports, as required
  • Processing and distributing monthly financial reports
  • Processing, reviewing and distributing financial statements by deadlines
  • Providing auditors’ requested items
  • Setting up new properties
  • Reviewing, approving and submitting all draws
  • Maintaining books for properties
  • Reviewing Adjusted Journal Entries (AJE) from audits
  • Monitoring and reviewing expenses and capitalizing per policy
  • Following up on outstanding bank reconciliation transactions
  • Updating the mortgage payment spreadsheet

Cash Management

  • Review and communicate properties cash positions
  • Managing accounts payable processes
  • Managing utility payments
  • Entering wire requests
  • Funding tax and insurance escrow accounts
  • Paying mortgages timely
  • Providing weekly Payables Reports to District Managers (DMs)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
  • Two years general Accounting experience preferred
  • Real estate accounting experience preferred
  • Sage accounting experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of Excel preferred
